Virtual Mobility – Changing Paradigms in Times of Disruption
The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of schools and other learning spaces have impacted 94 % of the world’s student population. On the other hand, this crisis has stimulated the adoption of novel approaches, methods, and practices. Besides, the number of remote jobs has been increasing. IMY Virtual Mobility project develops under this framework, promoting a new paradigm applied to mobility schemes. VM fosters:
- person-centred approach to learning and the competence-based approach
- strong individualization and digitalization of learning
- continuous scaffolding from appointed roles (by tutors/facilitators)
- “immersive learning” reinforcing business-education partnerships and the “Made in Italy” excellence
- a disruptive Innovation in WBL practices
- Valorizing the blend between “digital” and “inclusion”.
