Dual Education on the Rise – Highlights from Bulgaria

In the last 14 years, Lachezar has been actively involved in the VET field. First, as project officer for EU funding programmes supporting the VET field, then, as designer and evaluator of international VET projects. In the last 4 years, he has been part of the national team of the Domino project, related to introducing the Swiss model of dual education in Bulgaria. As a national Domino expert, he has been active in curriculum development, training of teachers and in-company mentors.

During his professional career, he has held different positions (Headmaster, Deputy Director and Professor) at diverse educational levels. Igberadja is the director of TVET Nexus Exchange, a youth leader and civil society advocate from Sapele, Nigeria. He has special interest in good governance, non-violence, community development, quality education, vocational skills development, sustainable livelihood, and economic development. He is an independent researcher with publications in academic journals, and the Correspondence Officer to the IVETA Regional Vice-President for Eastern & Western Africa. He is also the Coordinator of the Lucubrate Project in Nigeria.

Dr Vanya Kastreva

Dr. Kastreva graduated from Sofia University and has two master degrees (in history and educational management). She obtained her PhD in pedagogy from Plovdiv University. Dr Kastreva has worked as an editor and history teacher. From 1998 to 2006, she was the Headmaster of one of the biggest secondary schools in Sofia. Dr Kastreva has been the Director of the Regional Educational Inspectorate in Sofia-city (the biggest in Bulgaria) since June 2006. From 2014 to 2016, she was the Vice-Minister of Education and Science.

Dr Julian Ng

Dr. Ng is the Vice-President of Warnborough College, and also current Vice-President (Europe) for IVETA. Apart from being a management consultant and qualified lead auditor for ISO9001 and ISO27001, he is a popular motivational speaker and trainer in a range of management subjects. He is well-versed in education with a PhD in Education Management, regularly participating in international educational projects. He founded and directs the annual Canterbury Arts Conference, and is an author and a playwright.

Dr Brenden is a clinical counsellor and psychotherapist. He is an authority on Prior Learning Assessment, Lifelong Learning and Portfolio Competencies Assessment. He was Vice-President for Europe for IVETA (2016-2018), and is currently an Executive Director for IVETA. He is Ambassador for the International Council for Leadership, Governance, Entrpreneurship and Management (ICLGEM).
