IVETA is the International Vocational Education and Training Association, which was founded in 1984 by a group of technical and vocational educators who wanted to facilitate the sharing of knowledge between developing and developed countries.
Our Constitution was adopted in 1985 at a General Assembly and provides for the election of an Executive Committee to manage IVETA activities. The Executive Committee is composed of 13 officers who serve two-year terms and include a: President, President Elect, General Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and 8 Regional Vice Presidents.
IVETA is independent and registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) in the USA. We finance ourselves from membership fees. IVETA has individual and/or organisational members in over 50 countries in all regions of the World and has linkages with many major national, bilateral, and international development organisations working in the field of technical and vocational education.
IVETA Europe naturally represents the Europe region, and the current Vice-President is Dr Julian Ng.
In the last few years, we have organised regional conferences, meet-ups and other activities. We have more ideas planned for the coming months and years.
