Hon. Evarist Bartolo, MP
Hon. Evarist Bartolo is the Minister for Education and Employment of Malta. He is a B.A. (Hons) graduate of the University of Malta in English Literature, with additional studies in journalism at Stanford University, and a Master’s in Education at the University of Cardiff. He is known for being a proponent of civil rights in Malta, whose Parliamentary Bill for the introduction of divorce legislation in Malta was approved in Parliament in October 2011.
Professor Joachim James Calleja
Professor Joachim James Calleja is the Principal and CEO of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). He is the current President of EfVET (European Forum for Technical and Vocational Education and Training). He is also the former Director of Cedefop.
Dr Rose Anne Cuschieri
Dr Rose Anne Cuschieri is presently CEO of the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. She was previously the Director for Educational Services within the Secretariat for Catholic Education. She is also a part-time lecturer and tutor within the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta. Since 1999, she has been lecturing Leadership, Management and Interpersonal Skills at the Malta Academy for Disciplined Forces. Dr Cuschieri is also a free-lance trainer and lecturer in leadership, motivation and stress. She is the author of several articles in both local and foreign educational and management journals and books. She has written and presented several refereed papers in different prestigious conferences both locally and abroad.
Dr Francis Fabri
Dr Francis Fabri is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Education and Employment, Malta.
He is a teacher by profession, and served in a number of leadership roles at the Ministry for Education and Employment including those of College Principal,Director at the Research and Development Department, acting Director at the Curriculum Management and eLearning Department, and Director General at the Operations Department and the Department for Curriculum, Research, Innovation and Lifelong Learning. He has published and presented on educational leadership, school networks and networking, professional training and development, and strategy development both at national and international conferences.
Dr Julian Ng
Dr Julian Ng is the Vice-President of Warnborough College, and also current Vice-President (Europe) for IVETA. Apart from being a management consultant and qualified lead auditor for ISO9001 and ISO27001, he is a popular motivational speaker and trainer in a range of management subjects. He is well-versed in education with a PhD in Education Management, regularly participating in international educational projects. He founded and directs the annual Canterbury Arts Conference. He is also an author and a playwright.
Carmel Thompson
Carmel Thompson is the CEO of The Southern Cross Connection. She previously owned Achievers International College and Achievers Business College in Brisbane. She is a qualified accountant, and a highly-respected trainer and sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, with a high profile in Australia serving on numerous committees. She was former President of IVETA.
Dr Kenneth Vella
Dr Kenneth Vella is headmaster of Mater Boni Consilii – St Joseph School in Paola, Malta and a part-time lecturer at the University of Malta. After obtaining his Bachelor, Master and Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Malta, he completed his doctorate in Educational Research and Development with the University of Lincoln. Dr Vella is also the international representative of Learning Scoop Finland and Seppo Finland.
